Count Your Blessings
My sermon this Sunday is called, “Count Your Blessings” from Ephesians 1:1-12. Most of the time that phrase is used to say, “count your blessings” because you wouldn't want your life to be in the mess someone else's life is in. In other words, you should be happy because your situation could be worse. That is not the focus of this sermon.
In Ephesians 1 there is a list of seven blessings which God has given to each of us. I would like you to take a look at these verses and see if you can count the blessings which are listed. Understanding the blessings we have been given can help us to experience them. I want you to experience the fullness of God's grace in your life.
We live in a world filled with trouble and challenges. We serve Jesus who overcame the trouble in the world. He told us that we too would be able to overcome the world as we trust in Him. We have not been given grace from God so we can barely squeak through life and then make it to heaven. We have been given abundant blessings so that we can triumph in life and show the glory of God to a dark world.
We have been destined to triumph in life. Let's not settle for anything less.
