Beginning a New Life in Jesus Christ

The stress and noise of this world can be overwhelming. Work, news, politics, and even challenges with friends and family can leave us feeling troubled and alone.

In the Bible Jesus says, "Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly." (Matthew 28)

Being with Jesus starts with confession that he is the one you will follow—that he is the leader of your life. The Bible says "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10)

Following Jesus is not meant to be done alone, so we encourage you to get plugged in to a church. It's also important to plug into a life group—a group of people who can help you in your walk with Jesus. You can learn about Living Streams' life groups at livingstreams.org/groups

Another important step in following Jesus is to spend time daily reading his words. We encourage you to dedicate a portion of your day to reading The Word or follow along with a Bible reading plan.
